🕯️Magic and Astro

Astrology in general: science or just magic?

Astrology with perspective and a dash of humor. What your sign actually means, why you're not just an Aries, and why a horoscope is not a guide to life, but a map to self-discovery. A funny and inspiring guide for women who want to know more than just their sun position.

Astrology. For some, the wisdom of the stars...

... and for others, "that retrograde fairy tale again". 😄 But whatever you think about it, there's one thing you can't deny: it's been with us longer than most diets, governments, and influencers combined.

The basis is a simple but brilliant idea: what's above is also below. And so while the planets change in the sky, we lose our nerves, keys or hearts down here. Because yes - Mars is not just a planet, but also the mood with which you fly into Monday without coffee. ☕💥

And that's what astrology is all about – about rhythms, influences, assumptions and possibilities. It doesn't tell you what will happen, but what to watch out for when things start bubbling up inside like a baby. And no, newspaper horoscopes really don't count. You don't really think that 1/12 of humanity will meet their destined love on the tram today, do you? (Especially when there's a public transport strike.)

What exactly is astrology?

astrologická tematika, deska na kterém je kniha o datu narození, krystaly a náhrdelník na dřevěném povrchu.

Astrology means “the science of the stars”—although modern astronomy would be a little shuddering at that. Astrology doesn’t study the distances, temperatures, and composition of Pluto’s atmosphere. It’s interested in what the universe is trying to tell us. For example, if you’re born under the sign of Cancer, you might be a sensitive soul with a talent for cooking and a radar-like ability to absorb family drama.

Does that sound strange? Sure. But at the same time – how many times have you found yourself reading your horoscope and thinking: “Hmm… that fits me quite well.” And that’s what it’s about. Not about fatalism, but about a mirror. About a little cosmic GPS that doesn’t control your life, but sometimes shows you potholes to watch out for.

You are not just one sun. in sign!

Saying “I am an Aries” is like saying “I am a woman” – great, but it’s not enough. In astrology, there is a whole cosmogram – a map of the sky at the moment you were born. And that’s where it all starts: Sun, Moon, ascendant, houses, planets, aspects… More layers than Maruška’s cake.

While the Sun shows your basic disposition (e.g. Aries = action), the Moon shows how you experience emotions, and the Ascendant shows how you affect others. And when it all comes together? You have your own personal cocktail of personalities. With a black moon on top.

Astrology vs. astronomy: Why didn't Einstein address this?

Astronomy looks to the sky to calculate how fast an asteroid is flying.
Astrology looks to the sky to understand why you feel the need to text your ex every Mercury retrograde. 😅
Einstein didn't solve it because he was calculating space-time – and meanwhile we are solving why we need to feel everything right now. And you know what? Both paths are brilliant in some way.

What if I don't believe it?

So what? Astrology works even without faith. You don't need to burn incense at every conjunction - just know that there can be some order in the chaos out there. And that what you feel inside can have a name, a symbol and a story. Whether you call it "Moon in Cancer" or "I finally allow myself to feel".

Newspaper horoscopes: a cosmic quickie for bored readers 😉

When someone tells you that "today will be a perfect day for investing" - and they mean it Same for Pisces and Leo, something is probably wrong. 😄
Newspaper horoscopes are like instant soup – quick, salty, but They are about as far from a proper interpretation as Pluto is from hot coffee..
Do you want something real? You need the date, time, and place of birth.

So?

Astrology is not dogma. It is not crystal ball divination (although that is sometimes useful as a stylish accessory). It is a way of to know oneself, accept your strengths and weaknesses and stop wondering why you act like a general at work and like a puppy at home.

And even if nothing happens – it's still better to look at the stars every now and then than scroll through Instagram endlessly. 😄✨

💬 "I admit without torture – I believe in astrology, at least in part. I was influenced by Linda Goodman, my friend – the witch Irma and my own life. And even though I am a stubborn Lamb with my head first, I still love cards, stars and a bit of magic. Maybe I am an old soul, the reincarnation of a witch… or just a romantic naivete. But sitting in a bathrobe by the candle in the evening, reading the tarot and thinking about where I am going is for me a mix of magic, meditation and healthy female thinking and, most importantly, divine relaxation"
