Fall fashion 2025 - trends yes, but mainly your style

For women 50+, the fall hit is the models that were popular in the 1950s

At least you can choose...

You know what's the best thing about fall fashion? That you can choose. And you know what's even better? That at your age, you don't have to blindly follow every trend that flashes by on the catwalk. You can wear what suits you – literally and figuratively – and leave the rest on the hanger in the store. This year, fashion is returning to what makes sense: comfort, quality, and things that last more than one season!

And honestly? Some of the pieces from this fall look like they were tailor-made for women who know what they want. But some of them… ehmmm 😏

Oversized jacket – because bigger is simply better

This is not a fad. An oversized blazer is the one piece that will save you in the morning when you don't know what to wear, and in the evening when you need to look effortlessly great. The looser the better – and if it has padded shoulders, you're on top. That is, unless you already have the shoulders of a hottie!

You can wear it over a satin dress, with jeans and boots, or simply over a sweatshirt when it gets chilly outside. It's like having an elegant jacket that never fits you wrong. And what's more: it can be worn with a sweater, a scarf, and your mood. It's a piece that just works - and you can afford to be comfortable while looking like a million bucks.

Short-sleeved sweaters – yes, really

I'm excited, I have some prehistoric ones and I remember wearing my mom's ones - Well, it's retro 😉 It sounds strange at first, but try it. Short-sleeved sweaters were popular in the 1950s, and now they're making a comeback. When it's not quite winter outside yet, but it's a little chilly for a t-shirt, they're just the thing.

They're arm-baring, lightweight, and warm where you need it. They look great with a skirt, baggy jeans, or wide-leg pants. They're playful, practical, and surprisingly flattering.

It's not about looking like a teenager. It's about playing with what works for you.

Maxi scarf – this is not just an accessory

Get yourself a really big scarf this year(I have - several!) One that you can wrap yourself in like a blanket. It will replace your vest, light jacket, and the feeling of someone hugging you when the wind is blowing outside.

It's stylish, cozy and incredibly practical. You can wear it over a coat, over a jacket, or just like that – as a standalone piece that holds the whole outfit together. And the best part: the maxi scarf is cozy(cozy, pleasant, comfortable) in its purest form. When you're wearing it, the world seems a little calmer. Finally, I'll be IN! When I cool down, I look like an Arctic explorer on a mission 😂

Denim squared – courage that pays off

Jeans plus a denim jacket. Together. Yes, really. And it looks great – as long as you don’t do it half-heartedly. Either do it right or not at all. Well, nothing that excites me!

This year, darker shades of denim and original cuts that will catch your eye at first glance are in fashion. An all-denim outfit takes a bit of courage, and also a figure, but that's why it works so well. It's not for every occasion, but when you wear it right? You look like someone who knows exactly what they're doing.

Earthy tones – colors that embrace

Beige, brown, khaki, dark green. Colors that remind me of nature, peace, and autumn walks in the forest. This fall is all about them. It's not about being inconspicuous. It's about being in harmony. Earthy tones combine beautifully, don't require complicated styling, and look luxurious, even if you buy clothes for a few hundred. Add cherry red or chestnut to them - and you have an outfit that looks like it came out of a magazine. - and honestly, what's the point of color typology for me (yeah, I'm a nerd), but if I'm supposed to wear soft pastel colors, I guess this fall's colors won't be much for me!

What to take from all this?

Whatever suits you. Literally and figuratively. At your age, you no longer have to prove that you're in. You can afford to choose – and that's the greatest luxury.

Trends are inspirations, not commands. An oversized jacket? Great if you feel good in it. A short-sleeved sweater? Why not, if it suits you. A maxi scarf? Definitely yes, because cozy never gets old.

And the best part: you can get all these pieces for a few hundred. It's not about the money, it's about what you choose. What makes you feel great - not because someone said so, but because you just know it.

Because fashion is cool. But your style? It's much better.
