A plant that the earth had never touched \u2013 and therefore carries purity, protection and magical power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-2eb1eaed\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">The Celts and their golden sickles<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Druids \u2013 those hairy wizards with serious eyes \u2013 gathered mistletoe exclusively from oak trees. With a golden sickle, in silence, without touching the ground. They believed that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>protects against diseases<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ensures fertility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>helps with rituals and healing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For adults, mistletoe is considered safe for short-term use and in commonly recommended doses \u2014 especially when it is in the form of leaves and comes from fruit trees such as apple or hawthorn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, there are a few situations when it is better to take a break and consult a doctor or an experienced herbalist:<br>\u2013 pregnancy and breastfeeding,<br>\u2013 use of antidepressants,<br>\u2013 blood pressure medications or other cardiovascular medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nothing dramatic, just classic caution. Christmas is supposed to be about peace, not experimentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-4ec2c967\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Norse myths and mistletoe as a weapon<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vikings knew the power of mistletoe. In one of the most moving stories in mythology, the god Baldur \u2013 a symbol of light and joy \u2013 was killed by an arrow made of mistletoe. His mother, the goddess Frigg, then promised a kiss to anyone who walked under the mistletoe \u2013 so that it would never become a weapon. Thus began the custom of kissing under the mistletoe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-bfea6dc0\"><h4 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">And you know what? It&#039;s still said today that a woman who doesn&#039;t get a kiss under the mistletoe will be single for a whole year. Well... maybe. But beware: it still carries a hint of magic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Above the door \u2013 home protection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A volume above the dining table promotes family well-being.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under the ceiling \u2013 a symbol of love and connection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Libra \u2013 silence, peace, balance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In your pocket? A talisman against bad moods. \/tested personally\/<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In your wallet! \u2013 Yes, having mistletoe in your wallet is an old superstition that is supposed to bring\u00a0<strong>happiness, abundance and prosperity<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Some say that mistletoe only brings luck if you don&#039;t buy it, but get it as a gift. Others say that each berry is a wish. <a href=\"https:\/\/velkeholky.org\/en\/darky-vanocni-darky-a-jak-je-vybrat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">When the mistletoe falls, wishes come true.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>And if nothing else \u2013 it reminds you that even in winter, something can remain green. Alive. And beautiful.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-1f6c7039\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">My personal tip: Why I have mistletoe at home every year<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Because it makes me feel like I&#039;m not alone. Even though it hangs completely silent, it&#039;s like a little guardian of the space. It looks like a green amulet. And every time I walk under it, I smile for a moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Not everything has to be perfect. Not even Christmas. But when the mistletoe hangs \u2013 something is in place.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-ac836ff2\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">So plant it... in your home<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Not literally, of course. I have a mistletoe called Bed\u0159ich \/Because it is always so calm and wise and Bed\u0159ich evokes a slow, calm and nice friend for me ;).\/ <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-9093a699\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">How to choose and preserve beautiful Christmas mistletoe<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want your home to stay fresh and vibrantly green for as long as possible, follow a few simple rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 choose firm, fresh and dark green branches,<br>\u2013 white berries mean ripeness (not edibility),<br>\u2013 never spray mistletoe with water, it will turn brown quickly,<br>\u2013 keep it away from radiators and direct sunlight so it retains its color and shape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Such a small thing \u2014 and there&#039;s more of that quiet Christmas coziness at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-1b0f6d3a\"><h2 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">\ud83c\udf84 Recommendations:<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Add a piece of real mistletoe to your decorations.
