This November comes with gifts worth savoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What have I already mentioned \ud83d\ude0b<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Super full moon<\/strong> <\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n

November 4th and 5th<\/a> The full moon was a beaver moon! It was the biggest and brightest of the entire year 2025. Imagine: The moon will be at its closest point to Earth, and therefore it will appear a little bigger, a little brighter. As if it were coming closer to remind us that it is not yet time to completely close in for winter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And also South Taurids<\/strong> <\/a>(November 4\u20135) \u00a0<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mercury \u2013 the planet that hides<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mercury is notorious for being almost impossible to see. It's small, close to the Sun, and mostly hidden in its glare. But right now, in early November, it's climbing higher above the horizon\u2014and you have one of the best opportunities of the year to see it with the naked eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's like meeting someone special.<\/strong><\/a>. Someone who doesn't show himself much, but when he does, it's worth noting. Take a moment shortly after sunset, look low over the western horizon - and you might catch him. It's such a small triumph: to see something that is not so easy to see!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three meteor showers \u2013 and maybe fireballs<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

November unleashes three meteor showers, as if to tell us: "Don't worry, there's still plenty to see before the first snow comes."\u201e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Taurids<\/strong> (November 4\u20135)  Northern Taurids<\/strong> (November 11-12) are usually quiet \u2013 a few meteors per hour, nothing dramatic. But this year? It could be different. The two showers overlap, and there\u2019s a chance you\u2019ll see so-called fireballs \u2013 meteors brighter than Venus that streak across the sky with unexpected intensity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then they come Leonidas<\/strong> (November 17-18), famous for occasionally producing amazing displays of shooting stars. This year, it won't be an explosion, but a steady 10-15 meteors per hour under ideal conditions. And since the Moon will be almost dark, they will be beautifully visible.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It works out well for me: wrap yourself up warm, take a thermos with a hot drink, find a place with minimal lights, preferably outside the city \u2013 and just watch. It's not difficult. It's just a moment for you and the sky. And it's romantic!!! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mikronov \u2013 a night for stars<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On November 20th, there will be a micronova \u2013 the opposite of a supermoon. The moon will be at its furthest point in its orbit and completely dark. You won't see it. But that's why it's the best night of the month for observing deep space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Star clusters, nebulae, distant galaxies<\/h4><\/div>\n\n\n\n
    <\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    ...everything will be more visible because the Moon won't interfere with its light. It's a rare opportunity to see things that are otherwise hidden. All you need is binoculars, or even just your eyes and a bit of patience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Why watch this?<\/h2><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Because it's not every day. And it's really beautiful. Romantic. Magical! Because at fifty and over, you have the right to enjoy things that aren't hectic, that don't require anything other than a moment of peace and attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The November sky offers more than usual this year \u2013 and you have time to appreciate it. You don't have to understand astrophysics, astrology, or know all the constellations. Just stop, look up, and say to yourself: "Yeah, I wanted to experience this too."\u201e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    And so, yes, you will.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
