OMG, WTF?! Gen Z Dictionary for Adults: Do you know what cringe, rizz, or skibidi is?

Don't understand "cringe," "rizz," or "skibidi"? Learn to speak the language of Generation Z—even if you're not a boomer! Slang, acronyms, and WTF moments inside.

Introduction: Who did this to us?!

Remember when we – the good old 40s/50s – used to say “cool”, “super”, or “thick”? Well, you’re a total boomer these days if you use that term. The younger generation speaks in codes that sound like secret messages from the Illuminati. And if you don’t understand something, the answer is simply: “Cringe, bro.”

To avoid feeling like we're visiting another universe, let's take a look at some of the most common expressions used by young people. Get ready, because you'll feel like facepalming at times.

Abbreviations that will confuse your brain

OMG, WTF, IDK, IDC…

If someone answers you with "IDC", it means they don't care (I Don't Care - I don't care). When he writes "IDK", he simply doesn't know (I Don't Know). And you already know “OMG” – Oh my God! (Oh my God!). But what about “WTF”? Yes, exactly what you’re thinking right now (What The Fck* – “What the hell…?!”).

👉 Practical use:
👩 "Have you heard that they're making fries without potatoes?"
👨 “WTF, bro?” (What the hell is this, dude?!)

BRB, GG, GLHF – communication at the level of the CIA cryptographic department

BRB means Be Right Back (I'll be right back.). GG is Good Game (Good game – congratulating your opponent after the game, even if he just chopped you to pieces). And GLHF is Good Luck, Have Fun (Good luck and have fun), which is decent gaming etiquette – wishing someone luck before crushing them the next second.

👉 Practical use:
👩 “I have to go get coffee, BRB.” (I have to go get some coffee, I'll be right back.)
👨 “OK, but when you come, we’ll give you a LOL, GLHF!” (OK, but when you come, we'll play League of Legends - PC game. Good luck and have fun!)

New words: Foreign language or Czech 2.0?

Skibidi – what the hell is that?!

If you hear "skibidi" somewhere, it's not an exotic soup or a new martial art. The word went viral thanks to weird YouTube videos of animated heads in toilet bowls dancing to crazy music. Don't say anything, just accept it, it's an adjective for something strange or absurd.

👉 Practical use:
👩 "Did you see that video with those weird heads in the toilets?"
👨 "Yeah, skibidi toilet, bruh." (Yeah, that's the Skibidi toilet, dude.)

Cringe – or the feeling of embarrassment at its best

When someone tells you you're "cringe," it doesn't mean you have a great sense of humor. It means you just did something SO AMBASSADORABLE that it gave everyone else goosebumps. Basically the equivalent of our "cringe of the century."

👉 Practical use:
👩 “Look at Dad trying to dance on TikTok.”
👨 "OMG this is so cringe!" (God, this is so embarrassing!)

Rizz – a modern, charming seducer

Remember Casanova? So today he should just "rizz" (charisma). If someone has a "W rizz", it means they are the absolute king in the pack of people (W = win, good). On the other hand, "L rizz" is a complete disgrace (L = loss, bad).

👉 Practical use:
👩 "Lukáš completely charmed the waitress."
👨 “Yeah, I have W rizz.” (Yeah, he's really charming and knows how to charm women.)

Conclusion: Are we lost?

Luckily, no. Just learn a few basic expressions and you won't have to worry about the younger generation not understanding you. And don't worry, next time we'll have another dose of slang - because, as you already know, this language evolves faster than Windows updates.

Stay tuned! And if you don't understand something... IDK, bro. (Stay tuned! And if you don't understand something... I don't know, dude.)

🔥 Do you want part 2? Write in the comments: "W rizz!" 😆 (Do you want a sequel? Write in the comments that I have mega charm!)
