How to stay ahead of technology and applications after 40/50

TECHNOLOGY IS ADVANCING, BUT WHAT ABOUT US? OR HOW NOT TO GET LOST IN THE AGE OF TOUCH?

Why use them and why learn new ones?

Imagine this scene: Your phone will tell you it needs an update. You click "yes" and boom - everything looks completely different! The icons have been rearranged, the buttons are somewhere else, and by the time you find the calling app, you'll have time to rack your brain and nerves. At that moment you think to yourself: "Why did I even get into this? Where is my good old push-button Nokia?!"

But reality is relentless – technology is constantly evolving and we have no choice but to keep up, or one day wake up in a reality where we can't even buy a roll. Now imagine a grandmother who goes to the post office to collect her pension, but the post office has just increased the price of services, shortened its opening hours, and abolished the cash register. Suddenly she discovers that she "must have an account", an email, "download an app", "verify via SMS" and at that moment her sugar and mood plummet.

Do we want to end up like this too? NO! That's why it's important to master the most basic technological skills now. Learn to use your mobile phone, banking applications and online shopping. Because one day, the only way to pay in a store may be through a virtual wallet, and we don't want to be the generation that desperately calls out to their granddaughter, "Honey, how do I buy bread on my phone?"

So let's not be afraid of modern technology, they are here to serve us, not to scare us. And we'll show you how to use them to our advantage! 🚀

Technology is constantly evolving and it's important to keep up with it to make our lives easier and help us stay connected to the world. Here are some reasons why you should be open to new technologies:

  • Stay in touch: Apps like WhatsApp, Zoom, or Skype allow you to easily communicate with family and friends, wherever they are.
  • Personal development: Online courses and educational platforms like Coursera or Udemy offer a wide range of courses to help you learn new skills or deepen your existing knowledge.
  • Financial management: Financial management apps help you track expenses, create budgets, and plan savings.
  • Health and wellness: Apps for meditation, exercise, or diet tracking will help you maintain physical and mental well-being.
  • Safety: Learning to use security apps and tools, such as password managers or antivirus programs, will help you protect your data and privacy online.

Learning new technologies can be fun and rewarding. Start small, choose one or two areas that interest you, and gradually expand your skills. Remember, technology is here to make our lives easier, and it's never too late to get started.

WHAT new gadgets/technologies do you use without it driving you crazy!?

"Once a new technology rolls over you, if you're not part of the steamroller, you're part of the road."" —  Stewart Brand
