Autumn skin care – how to enjoy the cold days

Autumn is coming – and I love it. Creamy soups, hot teas, candles everywhere (yes, I'm a candle-loving woman and I don't mind the "you'll burn out someday" comments 😁).

I love autumn for its colors, atmosphere, and sense of peace. On the other hand, I don't love autumn sleet, dryness, humidity, and rain. My ideal autumn? Huddled under a blanket, with a book, coffee and tea. But it can't last forever - we just have to go out sometime. Warm shoes, a coat, a hat - and most importantly, good skin care. Because with the arrival of colder days, her needs also change.

Thicker creams for cold days

In the fall, it’s best to opt for thicker moisturizers with nourishing ingredients to replace the lightweight summer formulas. Look for creams that contain oils like almond or safflower, or butters like shea butter, for deep nourishment and protection against moisture loss. I personally use a heavier night cream all year round – it keeps my skin plump, soft and protected.

I personally primarily prefer natural or Korean cosmetics. I am not a fan of overpriced creams – I believe that it is not so much the price that matters, but the quality and regularity of care. At night, I even use very oily creams, sometimes even children's. The skin is then beautifully tightened, protected and nourished. The secret to beautiful skin is not in the luxurious packaging, but in the daily care that you give yourself.

SPF even in autumn

Don't forget about sun protection – yes, even in the fall! A day cream with at least SPF 20–30 protects against harmful UV rays, which are present all year round. This little discipline is a big anti-aging trick that is worth remembering.

Add masks and gentle exfoliation

As temperatures drop, skin often becomes dry and loses its natural glow. So add hydrating masks and gentle exfoliation to your routine to remove dead skin cells and help your skin better absorb nutrients from your creams.

Hand and body care

Autumn is also tough on your hands – the skin dries out and cracks more quickly. Reach for a high-quality moisturizing and regenerating cream with natural oils. And don't forget about your body and feet – treat them to nourishment at least once a week, for example with body butter or oil. They will be grateful to you.

What to look for in the composition of autumn products

  • Natural oils: Almond, safflower or avocado oil will nourish the skin and protect it from damage.
Shea butter: Intensively hydrates and regenerates the skin.
Hyaluronic acid: Helps maintain optimal hydration.
Vitamins A, C, E: They support regeneration and overall vitality of the skin.

Autumn as a ritual of care

Fall skincare isn't just about products - it's also about the atmosphere and little rituals. Brew some hot tea, light a candle, put on some music, apply a mask and take some time for yourself. Your skin will get what it needs, and you'll get a little moment of peace and regeneration.

💛 Summary: Autumn is the perfect time for thicker creams, SPF, hydrating masks and thorough nourishment for your hands and body. Treat yourself and your skin to some autumn hygge.Hygge is a Danish word denoting a feeling of well-being, coziness, warmth and intimacy, often associated with contentment and happiness.) and a little dose of luxury – it's not just care, it's a ritual.

And don't forget about the little miracle!
